I hope you are right. Statistically we aren't out of it yet, but it's going to take a heck of a run to get back in the playoffs

The NCC cannot unilaterally state that they won't deal with Melnyck. His group won the bid for redevelopment of Lebreton so that's that. Anything the NCC is involved in takes forever to complete, and I have first-hand knowledge of that.

I think a combination of injury, trade, overseas schedule, flu and back to backs are to blame for the predicament the Sens find themselves in. I say suffer through it, hang on to your pieces and make an adjustment at the deadline or in the off-season. The Kings were terrible last year and they have turned it around.

Senators are currently playing at a 43% win rate. with a record of 9-13-7.

To get to 95 points (last wildcard in playoffs next year), the Sens need to get 70 points over the remaining 53 games.

That's a 66% won rate. That's a record of 31-14-8.

Statistically, the Senators are already out of it.

Sorry.

the kings team with the better part of their SC winning core still together that lost there starting goaltender to injury for the better part of last year is nothing like the sens.

but i will find it enjoyable to see the sens do what you suggest.

But the Kings are a deadly team. Last year was an anomaly for them, given the talent on their roster

You're assuming that this year is your anomaly, but I'd argue that it was last year. You had no business being in the eastern conference finals

And now you've compounded the issue by operating like a true contender (see Duchene trade). You should have been stockpiling young assets, not trading them away...

But the good news is that you have a guy in Karlsson who'll net you a crap load of good young players, prospects, and picks in trade. And there's no risk in moving him, because the season is over and he's gonna walk in the off season anyways

good way to put it. last year was the outlying year for both the sens and kings.

things have normalized for both teams.

So is Duchene after this season.

He ain't the guy that wants to help a bad team save itself.

It was already known that the Sens weren’t interested in signing Turris long term. Nothing new here. Sens already are in a tight cap situation and it’s up in the air if Turris is worthy a long contract and his play won’t decline. Organization made a choice. Eugene probably had a say. A tough spot really. What they did was better than letting the guy walk or trade him for peanuts at the deadline.
